Facilities

Ardgay Public Hall has a large hall with a large stage and rear stage area. There is a smaller room and a fully equipped kitchen. We can accommodate a maximum of 150 people. There is plenty of parking at the hall and at adjacent areas in the village beside the station and at Drovers Square.

Booking the Hall / Room availability

Booking the hall is done directly through our calendar - please see here. Booking is generally charged by the hour where we allow 30 mins at the start and end for setting up and clearing up. Indicative rates are noted below for hourly and longer bookings, and for business, government or consulations etc. You will receive email confirmation about your booking request. Our bookings secretary will then review and confirm whether the hall is available for you. You will receive notification of costs at that point. Indiciative costs are below.

Costs

Main Hall - £9 per hour

Committee Room - £7 per hour

Kitchen - Free with other bookings for tea and coffee fewer than 20 people

Kitchen - £7 if using the stove/oven/catering/ separate day

Childrens’ party - £40 including kitchen

Adult parties,  dances and funerals - £90 including kitchen

Wedding - £300 including kitchen

Public Consultations, Government and council bookings  (per day) etc  - £300

Cancelling or changing a booking

To cancel or change a booking, please contact us here. We try to be as flexible as possible and generally won't charge with 48 hours cancellation notice. We may retain a small booking fee for larger bookings.

Parties and Social Gatherings

Childrens parties must be appropriately supervised by parents or by xxxx people.

Adult parties and events.

Stewards - you must provide details of two responsible people for stewarding your event.

Alcohol Sales - If you intend to sell alcohol at an event you must provice evidence of that your bar operator holds a personal licence which is authorised for the event.

BYOB events - you must provide details on your stewards and  we expect the hall to be left in clean an orderly state. Should there be extra cleaning required due to alcohol spills etc, we may charge an additional cleanering fee.

Smoking / Vaping 

There is no smoking or vaping allowed in or outside the hall. 

Tables and Chairs

Large tables are stored in a cupboard in the vestibule. Small tables are stored in the small meeting room and behind the stage. Chairs are stored in a cupboard to the right of the stage. Please ensure you have appropriate help to set up and clear up. Tables should be cleaned where necessary before you put them away. 20 chairs should be left out in the main hall and in the meeting room.
If you break a table or chair, please do not put it back in the cupboard. Please leave it out safely and let the committee know. 

Kitchen

The kitchen is well equipped to cater for 150 people.  There is a large cooker, large fridge, small freezer, dishwasher, urn, kettles, flasks and soup kettles. Please let us know what you require to use when you book and whether you wish the fridge and freezer switched on early. Please report any breakages to the committee. 

You must leave the kitchen clean and tidy.

Please ensure that you switch off the fridge and freezer and leave each door open. 

If you use the dishwasher, please ensure it is fully drained and wiped down.

The kitchen door is a fire door and should remain closed apart from when necessary.

Access

Hall Entry: there is a keysafe box with instructions beside it. You will be given the access number prior to your event. Please do not share the number with anyone who won't be actually opening the hall. There are also instructions on the side wall on how to open and close the hall. Please keep the outside and internal hall door closed unless you are loading equipment. This is to retain heat in the hall and keep our energy costs down.

Wheelchair access: there is a ramp at the far end of the car park. Please do not block access to the ramp.
