About Ardgay Hall

Ardgay Public Hall sits in the middle of the village of Ardgay in Sutherland. The main hall itself is large with a large raised stage and back stage area. There is also a well equipped modern kitchen and a small meeting room and carpark. We also have super fast broadband. The total capacity is 150. Traditionally the Hall has been used for weddings, ceilidhs, concerts, funerals and parties. We also like to have fun keeping fit and playing games with the Ardgay Badminton Club, Scottish Country Dancing, Tai Chi and general keep fit activities. Other regular user groups include our Lady Bird nursery club, music and art and craft groups. The hall is also used for community council meetings and elections.

Our fund raising activities mix fun with fund raising and include events such as community markets, garden swaps, repair cafes and auctions. We love working with other local organisations to run these events.

Our original village hall building - Balnagown Hall - dates back to 1892, and our new hall was rebuilt in 1969. The hall is available for all to use and continues to be the focus for many community activities.

Volunteering with us?

We have a great volunteer team at Ardgay Hall getting involved in all sorts of stuff from the essential maintenance and admin roles to organising markets and fairs, running raffles, fixing things at our repair cafes and eating jelly babies! Basically we all wanna have some fun doing what we do here. Come along to our regular meetings to meet the team or get in touch with any of our volunteers or committee to join us.

Fund Raising

Our markets, repair cafes and garden swap regular events all raise money for the hall, along with our book and bric a brac tables. If you would like to run an event to raise funds for the hall - or for your own group - please do get in touch.

It's also easy to raise money for the hall using Easyfundraising and The Highland Lottery.

Easyfundraising - a simple signup allows you to raise money for the hall whilst you do your on line shopping. There are hundreds of shops signed up from gorceries to insurance.

The Highland Lottery - find out more here - this is a Highland Third Sector Interface organised lottery where all half the funds go to prizes and the other half is given to your charity of choice. You win, we gain.

Direct Donation - please contact us here for our bank details to donate directly. Thank you for your kindness and generousity.
